Squid

Today starts the Granite Games Recap(s).  I (Betsy) sent a Facebook message to the members that competed and asked for their feedback on the experience and within seconds had so many quick one liners that if pieced together would be incoherent.  That being said I was laughing through them all and could tell the group had a great time both within their teams and with each other.  So here it goes: Today’s recap is Team AKA (Amanda, Amy & Angel). 

Team AKA worked their butts off and didn’t leave anything in the tank.  No one died in the swimming event (thank goodness). In addition, everyone on the team had a personal victory: Amy was the boss of the sandbag, Amanda killed the rope climbs and box overs and Angel got 9 ft of handstand walking with less than a week’s practice.  She kept it fun by capping it off with a YMCA dance at the end (which I can totally envision).  The front squats went well for the team as well and may have had a small cuss session between one of the members and a judge (shocking eh?).  They also had a huge thank you to T for being a great cheering section.

Some of the  funnier  take aways they had about the experience are:  recovery beers are important, candy (sourpatchkids in particular) are a must, and  getting naked in front of stranger is normal and maybe even necessary at a CrossFit competition.   

Great job team!  Way to represent CFGB
