Day 2 Granite Games Recap – Pro Team of III CrossFit Green Bay made up of Bryan, Derek & Tyler
I was surprised to hear our team was one of the few teams to have all three participants from the same gym. The landscape was extremely competitive and our team landed in 23 out of 30. Not too shabby!.
Some of the athletic feats included: Tyler finishing in the top 30 out of 90 athletes on the swim/run and completing 18 reps of front squat at 275# leading the team into their best placement of the weekend. Bryan hit a PR of 20 unbroken muscle-ups (staying cool and calm even in the face of his judge subtracting 3 reps during his set) and making legless rope climbs look effortless. Derek literally carried the “load” during the sandbag squats knocking out more than half of the team reps and pushed the pace on the Deadman Walking by knocking out
huge sets of deficit HSPU.
On the comic relief side of the team: there is a new PR set by Bryan for number of pieces of bubblegum can be fit into one’s mouth with 20 pieces. Derek provided epic Instagram documentation of athlete camp for comic relief and Tyler must have flown under the radar as I received no silly commentary about him.
Overall the team was hoping for a better placement; however, showed resiliency and toughness throughout the weekend with a type a grit that defines CFGB.
Great job guys!
