Dragonair
Our boy Ray qualified to participate in the Expert Infantry Badge these last two weeks qualifying for the event with shooting expert with an M4, 70% min APFT score and a load other required qualifications. Just to be able to be eligible for EIB is impressive. Anyways, Ray spent the first week in all day long training followed by late night cram sessions to study the million details of each event of the EIB. The actual test started Last Sunday with a APFT and a day/night land navigation test and concluded this last Friday with a 12 mile Ruck March. Well, the 12 mile Ruck was almost the end of old Ray but not if he had anything to say about it as he came falling across the finish line with moments remaining on the clock. As soon as he crossed that line he had to get up and perform over 50 different tasks on his M4 weapon in 3 minutes. Dehydrated, physically and mentally exhausted Ray got it done. I won’t go into much more detail as he can tell the story better than I! Ray we are proud of you and even prouder to be a part of the Shanle family. The Shanle family is very dear to me and this gym as I look up to them as what it means to be a true American family. Well done Ray. I want to send out congrats to Will Kocken and Cody Anderson too for their succeeding in their goal of the EIB Badge as well. Will and Cardo are both close friends of CFGB so I take great pride in seeing you two do what I knew you could. Congrats fella’s.
PS-My phone has been dead for a week in a half so I apologize if I have not gotten back to anyone that messaged or called me. Like dead dead so it still doesn’t work. I’ll get it fixed this week. On the other hand was it nice to not have that darn thing. I was able to concentrate on becoming a better Infantry Soldier with 100% concentration. I definitely came away from these last two weeks a better soldier and better leader to man the CFGB train to the top of the health and fitness game. I will be back Monday morning and look forward to seeing all your smiling faces. Oh and you should try putting your phone down for a couple days when you get a chance, it’s refreshing
Today’s WOD is in honor of my brothers in arms and their determination, grit and steadfast effort.
God loves the Infantry
